A hot tub is a great way to increase your rentals; guests love to soak in a warm tub after a long day in the mountains. But did you know they’re also one of the biggest causes of complaints in a chalet?
If you have a jacuzzi at home, chances are you only use it once a month, at most. Often a jacuzzi is what has persuaded a guest to rent your chalet and sure enough, they’ll be using it every night. Their kids, too, love to play in them; jumping in and out and splashing all the water out. This is not what jacuzzis are for and your average hot tub absolutely hates this! Anything more than two days of this kind of heavy use can cause cloudy water, and if not treated quickly, health problems.
But they’re your guests, we want them to have the best holiday ever and we want them to feel completely at home in your chalet.
We’ve discovered there’s only one way to balance the two – constant care of the jacuzzi. We visit every 48 hours, maximum, during occupied weeks, to ensure the chemicals and the pH are in perfect balance and the water is crystal clear. Particularly during the school holidays, we find this is the only way to ensure that chemicals in the tub are coping with the added stress.

Swimming pools are even more effective at attracting clients. Floating in a giant warm puddle after a day’s hiking in the summer is just heavenly.
Although they don’t need as much care as hot tubs, they still need weekly attention to ensure the water and chemicals don’t become imbalanced, especially under heavy use.
Perhaps you’ve left it a bit late to open up the pool and now it looks like liquidised broccoli? Not a problem, we have very strong stomachs and we can have it sparkling for you within a day. And we’ll re-home the frogs if you’d prefer.
